FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
You can quickly and easily find a dealer in your local area by clicking on the Locate a Dealer link.
Foreign Accents does not sell directly to retail consumers, but you can find a dealer in your area who sells our rugs by clicking on the Locate a Dealer link.
Dealers have control over how much inventory and which sizes and designs they carry. If they do not have the rug you want, any dealer can easily order from us directly.
The sizes for each design within a collection are shown on the web page that displays individual rug designs. The number in the item name is part of the SKU number, not the actual rug size. Check the individual rug pages for exact sizes.
Yes. Any of our hand-tufted collections can be custom sized up to 12 feet wide and however long you need.
We cannot customize colors in a design, but custom sizing is always available.
We ship our rugs to Canada, Mexico and many other countries. Dealers (and/or the consumer)
are responsible for any customs, duties or taxes that may be imposed by each country and are not included in our normal shipping charges.
If a rug is in stock, we will ship (based on dealer's instructions) within 24-48 hours. All rugs ship from
Albuquerque, New Mexico, so depending on where the rug is being delivered, it can take from 2-5 days to be delivered in the continental US.
International shipments vary based on country and customs policies.
Foreign Accents rugs are made from various materials and constructed using a variety of methods.
Notably, our most popular collections are hand-tufted in wool or in Favriel. Our shag collections are often poly yarns.
Each collection on our web site contains a description of the materials and construction methods used to create rugs in that particular collection.
Yes, the majority of our collections are dyed and treated to be colorfast.
However, that does not mean they will not fade if exposed for prolonged periods of time to the sun.
Too much sunlight causes the colors to fade, which in turn creates unevenness in the colors of the rug.
Any of our collections that are hand-tufted in wool can be considered "green" products.
Wool is a naturally biodegradable product and is composed entirely of amino acids, the building blocks of life.
Since wool is shorn from sheep every 9-12 months, it is renewable and does not diminish the earth's natural resources.
When wool rugs are installed in a home, they work to improve air quality by absorbing common contaminants.
It also creates a more balanced environment by absorbing vapor from the air in humid conditions and then releasing it when the atmosphere becomes dry.
The high moisture content of the fiber, along with wool's protein constituents, gives wool carpet excellent flame resistance.
Wool fiber will not support combustion. It is difficult to ignite and is self-extinguishable.
Wool is a non-allergenic fiber and does not promote the growth of bacteria or dust mites or give off harmful emissions.
Some people have experienced itchiness from a wool sweater and think they are allergic to wool.
What appears to be an allergic reaction is simply the "tickle and prickle" of the wool fibers when worn close to the skin.
Of course, if you think you are experiencing an allergic reaction to any material, it is best to consult your physician.
All rug images shown on our web site have been professionally photographed to show the true
colors and details of each rug. However, due to differences in color settings on individual color monitors,
Foreign Accents cannot guarantee that each rug image will appear absolutely color correct to the actual rug.
Our rugs are works of art, often handmade using handspun yarns. The color and fiber variations are part of the character of the rugs,
and should not be considered as defects.
Use the "reverse roll" method. Simply roll the rug in the opposite direction from the way it was shipped.
We do recommend rug pads to help avoid slippage and maintain the lifespan of your rug.
We currently do not carry rug pads, but they can easily be found at hardware or home stores or online.

Our rugs are warrantied against manufacturer's defects for one year from date of shipment.
Returns must always be requested through the dealer who sold you the rug.
Based on the reason for return, we will either issue a Return Authorization number or a Call Tag.
We will notify your dealer of which type of return is being authorized. In all cases, however,
the request must be directed to your dealer, and we must approve the return prior to the rug being sent back to our warehouse.
There are numerous types of damage, so the type of damage will determine the resolution.
When your rug is delivered, please inspect it carefully. If there is any noticeable damage from shipping,
do not accept delivery or, if you are not available when the rug is delivered, notify your dealer immediately
if you notice shipping damage! Taking pictures of the damaged shipment will help process a damage claim with the shipper more quickly.
If, after opening a rug, you find it is damaged, please notify your dealer immediately. If, during the course of owning the rug, there
is damage that pertains to the manufacturer, notify your dealer immediately. Again, taking pictures will assist in resolution.
We will evaluate each damage claim on an individual basis and notify your dealer of what type of resolution will be provided.
